XYSTON from humble beginnings

XYSTON Pty Ltd’s story is one of resilience and purpose, forged from years of dedicated frontline service in the disability sector.

Our CEO, Mr. Walker, immersed himself in the industry in 2016, specialising in supports for participants with schizophrenia, neurological conditions, and cognitive disorders—a commitment that has spanned nearly a decade and continues to shape our work today.

This hands-on foundation, marked by operational leadership and compassionate care, inspired the launch of our first business in 2019, focused on home care services.

XYSTON followed on 8 June 2020, registered as an Australian Private Company and operating from day one to provide expertise in consultancy work for the disability space.

By 2022, Mr. Walker departed the 2019 venture to fully dedicate himself to XYSTON, evolving it into a registered NDIS provider delivering Supported Independent Living (SIL) services until mid-2025.

Today, we pivot toward specialised Support Coordination, actively seeking accreditation for Specialist Support Coordination, while upholding our core mission: innovative, high-quality supports that celebrate diverse needs, fostering independence, dignity, and community belonging to help participants craft lives of true fulfilment.

Milestones That We've Hit

  • 2016-2019: Frontline Foundations

Mr. Walker’s deep dive into specialised care for schizophrenia, neurological, and cognitive needs built the operational expertise that launched our first business in 2019, focused on home care services—a venture that honed our participant-first ethos.

  • 2020: Launch and Early Sector Support

Incorporated on 8 June 2020, XYSTON immediately began operating, offering consultancy expertise to accredited NDIS providers, not-for-profits, and private organisations. Our emphasis on compliance and risk strengthened services during the pandemic, establishing us as a dependable ally.

  • 2021: Forging Key Partnerships

We secured alliances with essential bodies like the Office of the Public Advocate, Department of Child Protection, and Department of Justice, expanding our reach to deliver nuanced, holistic care for those with complex profiles.

  • 2022: Refining Focus Amid Resilience

Departing the 2019 home care business, XYSTON sharpened its lens on SIL services as a registered NDIS provider, emerging stronger from sector challenges and deepening our commitment to resilient, empathetic delivery.

  • 2023: Excellence in Complex Care and ISO Compliance

ISO 9001 certification embedded global Quality Management Systems into our DNA, while ISO 27001 bolstered data security and confidentiality. NDIS Module 2A compliance for Restrictive Practices Management ensured interventions prioritise dignity as a last resort. All audits passed flawlessly, with zero non-conformities.

Dr. Wesley D. Rigg, MBBS FRANZCP (Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatrist), partnered with us for eight months in 2023 to foster autonomy for a participant facing severe brain damage and psychotic illness. He shared: “Mr. Walker heads one of the few agencies… equally skilled in supporting clients with severe mental illness and in managing… assaultive and aggressive behaviour with empathy and with the minimum use of restrictions… I was particularly impressed by Mr. Walker’s compassion and genuine care… and I have no hesitation in recommending Xyston for the most complex and difficult of situations.”

  • 2024-2025: Pivot to Coordination and Unwavering Compliance

Mid-2025 marked our seamless shift from SIL to Support Coordination, drawing on specialised expertise to deliver insightful, proactive care. Praise from psychiatrists, psychologists, and behaviour specialists continues for our handling of complex needs. On 4 August 2025, our mid-term NDIS audit confirmed full compliance across all findings—no non-conformities—reaffirming alignment with Practice Standards and our steadfast focus on quality and empowerment. We’ve sustained impeccable audits, grown partnerships, and advanced toward Specialist Support Coordination accreditation.
